Incom Supports BBC Children In Need Appeal

Watched by over 7.7 million viewers, this year’s BBC Children in Need raised a record £37.1 million to help disadvantaged children and young people in the UK – and we were part of the big fundraising night!

Employees from Incom, CNS and Mitie helped the BBC to raise over £37 million for the annual BBC Children in Need appeal, travelling to Mitie’s award-winning contact centre in Thorp Park, Leeds, to answer the phones and take donations from the public.

Staff were delighted to offer their support to Mitie, who operate a leading-edge Mitel contact call centre designed, installed and supported by Incom-CNS. Mitie’s advanced multimedia contact centre ensured that the flagship site was considered a safe pair of hands to take calls on the big fundraising night.

A team of over 100 volunteers manned the phones, with everyone entering into the spirit of the evening and supporting this year’s theme of “dressing as your childhood hero”. During the evening, we were responsible for monitoring 50 telephone lines and processing the public’s donations and during the course of the evening, not a single call was dropped.
